Overview

This course is intended for physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and athletic trainers where best evidence-based practice will be utilized for how to approach student clinical education. This course will be taught by the Student Clinical Coordinators of Education at Premier Health sites to guide those seeking opportunities to mentor students as well as fine-tune skills of clinicians with years of experience mentoring students. Topics will include how to best approach feedback, how to handle conflict in a healthcare setting, and how to prepare for the next wave of students in an ever-changing world.


Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. list the benefits of mentoring a student.
  2. identify the struggling student and formulate strategies to help them progress with their clinical education.
  3. identify the exceptional student and formulate strategies to challenge them in a clinical setting.
  4. define conflict resolution strategies in a rehab clinical setting.
  5. list effective feedback strategies with student education
  6. describe the role of AI in a rehab clinical setting and its effect on clinical education.
  7. interpret the importance of weekly progression goals for student education.

Registration

Participants must register via CloudCME. This educational event is being offered to Premier Health employees for free.


Accreditation

Continuing Education are being applied for 2 hours for PT/PTA, OT/OTA, SLPs, and ATs.
