The Pediatric Fundamental Critical Care Support (PFCCS) program,prepared under the direction of SCCM, will introduce principles important in the initial care of critically ill or injured pediatric patients to physicians, nurses and other health care professionals who must care for such a patient in anticipation of the arrival of a pediatric intensivist or pending transfer of the patient to a more suitable facility. It provides both didactic and hands-on clinical skills (using small group format and simulation).

1. Prioritize assessment needs for the critically-ill or injured infant and child.
2. Select appropriate diagnostic tests.
3. Identify and respond to significant changes in the unstable pediatric patient.
4. Recognize and initiate management of acute life-threatening conditions.
5. Determine the need for expert consultation and/or patient transfer and optimally stabilize the patient for transport.

Wright State University (WSU) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. WSU designated this CME activity for a maximum of 16.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations received in writing no less than 20 days before the course will be refunded, less a 20% administrative fee. No refunds will be made on cancellations received after that date. Please send cancellation requests to [email protected].
