Overview
Regional conference focused on improving care for pregnant and parenting women with substance use disorders (SUD). The event will provide updates on best practices for treating SUD during the peripartum period, explore the impact of stigma and implicit bias in care settings, and highlight trauma-informed approaches specific to this population. The conference will also showcase local and culturally responsive services designed to support the needs of both mothers and their children, promoting whole-person and dyadic care throughout our region.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Provide updates for best practices in SUD in peripartum period.
  2. Discuss the role of stigma and implicit bias in caring for SUD in the peripartum period.
  3. Discuss principles of Trauma informed care for this population.
  4. Share local and culturally appropriate services and programs to provide whole person care for the dyads in our region.
  5. Recognize the signs of caregiver burnout and stress in healthcare professionals.
  6. Create a realistic and sustainable self-care routine to enhance resilience and prevent burnout.

Accreditation
Wright State University (WSU) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. WSU designated this CME activity for a maximum of 4.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
